David Arthur
My passion for photography emerged when I was a little kid and I was able to go to my uncle’s darkroom and watch him develop black and white prints. It was like watching magic happen before your eyes. Fast forward to 2002 when I started my careers as a staff photographer for the Department of Defense photographing ceremonies and events for the Pentagon including the dedication to the 9/11 Pentagon Memorial, I began to see the true power of photography in capturing rare moments in time that can create lifetime memories.  My work utilizes both film and digital formats to capture the beauty and shape of the human form through light and composition. My portraits are an attempt to invite the viewer into another person's world and to imagine the thoughts and emotional landscapes of my subjects.
